SOURCE: Barbara Wetzler, President, SPCA Of Central Flordia

2/3/07, SEMINOLE COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES — Lake County Animal Control is overwhelmed with tornado displaced animals. They need crates, cages, carriers, food (dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, livestock, etc.), bowls, litter boxes, blankets, towels… Since police ask people to avoid tornado areas, SCAS is managing donation intake/delivery for Lake County Animal Control. 2/5/07, CAPT. RON FACH — We are in daily contact with animal control agencies and humane societies in tornado stricken areas. The main problem has been dogs guarding destroyed property and not letting search-rescue teams in. Pets911 is also on daily VOAD calls. No agency has voiced concern for animals…but that does not mean there are no problems. SOURCE: Capt. Ron Fach, Humane Law Enforcement-Florida / Pet Owners Alliance, Disaster Response Teams, www.pets911.org

2/2/07, NOAH’S WISH INITIAL REPORT — We are aware of tornadoes that touched down in Central Florida this morning. An area volunteer is gathering information. Noah’s Wish has not yet mobilized.
